FIRE HAZARD
The forest of the Forest District Przytok has always been in the highest category of the fire hazard, because of its great share of coniferous forests sites and numerous share of pine tree stands, especially of younger and medium age classes, and finally because of the close location to the city of Zielona Góra.
There occurs 60 fires on average, annually. The largest fires took place:
• in 1948 and 1957 within the area of 88ha, the Sub-District Przytok,
• in 1988 in one fire there were burnt out 73,12 ha of forests within units186f, 187c, 188h, 189d of the Sub-District Przytok ( mentioned units were passed on the city of Zielona Góra for development areas),
• in 1993 in one fire there were burnt out 10,72 ha of forests within 277, 278, 279 of the Sub-District Otyń,
• in 1996 in one fire there were burnt out 13,00 ha of forests within 48,49 , of the Sub-District Przytok
• in 2003 in one fire there were burnt out 12,23 ha of forests within the Forest Rangers Area Zatonie of the Sub-District Otyń,
• in 2010 in one fire there was burnt out natural monument – the oak "Napoleon".
